Apple and Cinnamon Coffee Cake Recipe

Recipe Ingredients
  • A can of Apple pie filling
  • ½ c. hot water
  • ⅔ c. of powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Milk
  • 2 c. of Bisquick baking mix
  • ¼ to ½ a teaspoon of grounded cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of grounded nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped Pecans or Walnuts
Recipe Preparation
  • First heat the oven to 400 degrees. Once that is done, mix the cinnamon, nutmeg along with the pie filling. Then add the baking mix and hot water until the dough forms. Now beat using 20 strokes.
  • Next, turn the dough onto the surface which has been dusted with baking mix. After that, roll the dough gently in baking mix in order to coat it. Now knead the dough 60 times and roll into rectangles measuring 14 x 10 inches.
  • Now transfer the rectangular pieces of dough onto the ungreased cookies sheets. Take care to reshape gently as you do. Next spread the pie filling lengthwise over half the dough to within ½ inches of its edge. Now moisten it with water. Use the remaining dough over the pie filling and crimp the edge using a fork.
  • Once that is complete, bake the dough until it turns golden brown in color. This should take about 23-25 minutes. When it is done, let it cool for some time. Then mix the powdered sugar and milk until it becomes smooth. Spread this mixture over the warm apple and cinnamon coffee cake. Now sprinkle the nuts over it.
