Vertigo is a condition in which a person feels that he is about to fall. It is just like dizziness in which a person feels the sensation of the world revolving around. Most often, people term vertigo as a disease, but it is not a disease rather it can be called as a symptom or condition. The vertigo condition is also explained as a person having lightheadedness, silliness, wooziness or dizziness. Vertigo occurs due to imbalance in equilibrium. Equilibrium is a sensory system and is located in vestibular system (structures of the inner ear). It is responsible for balance and orientation of the head.

The treatment of vertigo may include antibiotics, mild drug prescriptions, injections or in more serious cases, surgery might be suggested by your doctor. Alternative medicines such as dates and citrus fruits are often helpful. If vertigo has happened to you because of fatigue or alcohol consumption, rest is the best solution.
